Greg Plitt may have been trying to outrun train before fatal accident

TV star Greg Plitt was fatally struck by a train Saturday, and the story keeps getting stranger -- and sadder.

New details emerged Tuesday that indicate the fitness model and star of Bravo's reality show "Work Out" was trying to outrun a commuter train in Burbank when it overtook him.

"The conductor can see somebody on the tracks a distance away," Burbank police Officer Joshua Kendrick told The Associated Press. "The conductor's braking, he's using his horn, and for one reason or another, unfortunately, Mr. Plitt did not get off the tracks."

TMZ reported Tuesday that law enforcement found multiple energy drink bottles near the track, and Plitt may have been drinking them while filming an ad for the product. The Associated Press, however, says Plitt was filming a clip for his website, which already featured a video of the 37-year-old working out next to the tracks.

Friends at the shoot initially said Plitt, a West Point grad and Army Ranger, had tripped on the tracks. "Anything that deals with trains is serious," Kendrick said. "You've got to stay away from those tracks."

Christina Stejskal, Plitt's girlfriend, told People magazine he was "just trying to get the best shot. He wanted to push things to the limit. He's just like Superman."

Pop singer Justin Timberlake's trendy New York restaurant, Destino, closed in 2013, but only now is the cause of its demise being revealed: nonstop explosions of sewage.

One of the restaurant's co-owners filed a lawsuit against the restaurant's insurer Tuesday, alleging that the insurer rushed the restaurant to reopen after burst pipes drenched the posh eatery with human effluence.

A few days after a November 2013 relaunch, the suit alleges, a falling pipe drenched a food area with more sewage, which led to a mold infestation.

Don't worry about Timberlake being caught in rivers of sewage, though -- he sold his stake in 2007.
