The Council on Foreign Relation’s Walter Russell Mead, in his fascinating blog, makes much the same argument that I made in my Sunday Examiner column—even though Mead is more supportive of specific Obama administration foreign policy moves than I am. A pithy summary: “We are neglecting or quarreling with our friends and reaching out to our enemies — but neither policy is yielding much in the way of results.” As with anything Mead writes, it’s worth your time to read the whole thing.
