Gonzales helps top Jewish Community in opener

Amiel Gonzales scored two second-half goals to lead International to a 5-2 victory over Jewish Community in a boys’ soccer season opener for both schools.

Trailing 2-1 at halftime, the Jaguars tied the match at Loris Lamarque’s goal in the 50th minute, then took the lead on Gonzales’ two strikes in the 60th and 68th minutes before getting an own goal for the final conversion.

Jewish Community went up early on goals by Jake Sklar and Jesse Snyder and managed to stay in the game due in large part to the 22 saves made by goalie Adam Rosenbloom.
