Golden Gate Park: there’s an app — and map — for that

One of The City’s favorite pastimes — blindly navigating through the 140-year-old, 3-mile Golden Gate Park — is becoming outdated.

iPhone has a Golden Gate Park Field Guide application with a map of the manmade urban oasis that makes The City’s website and an $815,000 project to add and replace navigational signs look frankly, archaic.

And the California Academy of Science is responsible for the technological leap, offering a $5 discount until Christmas Eve for anyone who shows their Golden Gate app at the door.
