Gascón heading off to the Sunset

Police Chief George Gascón is headed to the Sunset District on Thursday so residents have a chance to share their neighborhood concerns.

Gascón, who took over the SFPD in August, will be at the Sunset Recreation Center, 2201 Lawton, between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. for a meet and greet with residents of the Taraval police district. Supervisor Carmen Chu will also be there, according to the district captain’s newsletter.

Here’s another highlight from the newsletter:

“Auto Break-ins were down another 50% with 45 reported between January 17th and February 13th. Six cases have benefited from officers taking fingerprints which could be entered into the Automated Fingerprint Identification System.”
