Funny Victoria Beckham finds power in fashion 

The former Posh Spice can take a joke - and she wants to empower women. Uh-huh.

Victoria Beckham, cover girl of the July edition of Elle Singapore, says she shocks many people when she first meets them.

"People are probably surprised that I have a sense of humor. I like to take the mickey out of myself," she told the magazine. "As much as I take what I do very seriously, I also want to have fun. I like to poke fun at myself… And I think that surprises people."

Mrs. David Beckham's interview also happens to coincide with a publicity push for her growing fashion line, about which she crows: "I think that she's a woman that wants to look good. Appreciates luxury. Likes fashion. I want to make a woman feel her best. I want to empower women."


This year's Treasure Island Music Festival on Oct. 18-19 includes Outkast, Massive Attack, alt-J, Zedd, TV on the Radio, Janelle Monae, the New Pornographers, Washed Out, St. Lucia, Banks and Jungle.
