Fulton playground should make the grade after renovation

A $4.2 million playground renovation is in the design stage, and the Friends of Fulton Park want your input.

Safety-wise, it got a B on the nonprofit Neighborhood Parks Council report card. However, the park, which has been defined as a historical resource, is also on a list of playgrounds benefitting from the Clean and Safe Neighborhood Bond.

Here’s Rec and Park’s description of what they’re spending the bond money on:

“The project scope will include the repair and/or renovation of the clubhouse, the two children’s play areas, and courts; restoration of existing roads and pathways; upgrades to the infrastructure including lighting, modifications to the site to remove barriers and improve accessibility, and overall reconditioning of the park landscape.’’

The Friends of Fulton Park and Rec and Park staff will meet about the makeover on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the playground’s clubhouse.
