FTA meets with small businesses to discuss securing work for Central Subway project

Members from the Federal Transit Administration convened Wednesday in San Francisco to give advice to small business owners on how to secure contract work for The City’s Central Subway project.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, which is overseeing the $1.6 billion project, is set to release a new round of work bids for the undertaking, which will expand Muni service 1.7 miles, connecting the SoMa district to Chinatown.

In light of the new job opportunities, the FTA conducted a sit-down meeting with small-business and minority-owned companies on the best way to secure federal work. Tuesday’s workshop in San Francisco was part of a series of federal outreach meetings slated to take place around the country.
