Fourteen SF teachers awarded grants to travel and learn new methods

Fourteen San Francisco teachers received grants to travel this summer to expand and improve their teaching skills. The Fund for Teachers nonprofit is providing the grants for the trips. Rachel Herbert of SF Community Elementary will travel to Singapore to analyze how teachers use the Singapore Model Method to teach math to students with learning disabilities, and a team of teachers from Dianne Feinstein and Sherman Elementary will attend classes at Columbia University to improve how they teach reading and writing.
