JOHANNES MEHSERLE
Los Angeles will officially receive the former BART police officer’s murder trial Friday. L.A. Superior Court Judge Robert Perry will conduct a status hearing to begin proceedings after an Alameda County judge ordered the trial moved to Southern California due to the large amount of publicity in the Bay Area. Mehserle is accused of fatally shooting passenger Oscar Grant III
on New Year’s Day 2009.
