A week after violence inside and outside Candlestick Park overshadowed the 49ers-Raiders preseason exhibition game, fans settled down Saturday but were treated to a 30-7 drubbing at the hands of the Houston Texans.

49ers team President Jed York announced last Monday a series of changes intended to address “degenerate” behavior, and at Saturday’s preseason game, ejections and arrests were way down, according to San Francisco police.

There were 12 ejections at the game, two arrests for public intoxication, one warrant arrest, one citation for selling without a permit and six medical calls, police said.

The NFL also sent its top security chief to the Bay Area to meet with police and security and reassure fans that the league is serious about preventing violence.
