Foggy weather causing SFO flight delays

The foggy weather could cause some delays at the San Francisco Airport this morning.

Flights to and from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City are already delayed up to an hour.

The weather has also prompted the Federal Aviation Administration to implement a ground delay that’s effective at 9:30 a.m.

The ground delay decreases the number of planes that can land and subsequently sets both arrivals and departures back. However, the fog is supposed to burn off by noon, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will stay in the 60s throughout the week, including the morning fog, but there’s a chance of rain Friday night and throughout the weekend, said meteorologist Steve Anderson.
