Flowers empower kids at Salvation Army floral show in San Francisco 

‘Flower Power’ luncheon: On Wednesday at the Sir Francis Drake hotel, the Salvation Army hosted its seventh annual floral design show and lunch. The gathering was a fundraiser for the organization’s “Back 2 School” event, which provides classroom supplies to 1,500 schoolchildren, and for other Salvation Army programs. Guests included floral designer Ron Morgan and ABC 7’s Carolyn Johnson.

Masquerade Soiree launch: San Francisco Beautiful, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing and protecting the unique beauty and livability of The City, held a gathering at Nordstrom on Friday to prepare for its inaugural Masquerade Soiree. The event, chaired by Sharon Seto, will be held Oct. 14 at the Sheraton Palace and will feature cocktails, live entertainment,  a costume contest, an awards presentation and dancing.

SF Chefs 2011 After-Party: On Friday at the City Club of San Francisco, patrons and food lovers attended a bash to celebrate the opening night of the food, wine and spirits festival in Union Square. Bites were provided by pastry chef Leena Hung from the Restaurant at Wente Vineyards, chef Josh Birch of Da Bettina and host chef Michael Munoz of the City Club. Chef/DJ Hubert Keller was at the turntables.
