Flap over air traffic controllers snoozing on the job 

As the Federal Aviation Administration’s embarrassment rises along with the number of solo air traffic controllers accused of sleeping on the job this year — now totaling four — the director of the FAA Air Traffic Organization complied with his bosses’ request that he resign.

Meanwhile, FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood pledged a "top to bottom" cleanup. And a second controller is being added at 27 airport towers for late-night shifts previously manned by one person.
