Five wounded, 1 killed in Oakland shooting 

Police in Oakland continue to investigate a shooting that killed one person and left five others wounded early Wednesday morning, police said.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1100 block of Eighth Street at around midnight, according to Oakland police.

Arriving officers located three victims suffering gunshot wounds at the site of the shooting, police said. The three victims were taken to local hospitals, where one of them was declared dead.

In the hours after the shooting, three other victims walked into hospitals Wednesday morning seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. All three were believed shot in the same incident.

Information regarding victims and their individual conditions was not immediately available, police said.

No arrests have been made.
