First Board of Supervisors meeting since recess canceled

What was to be the Board of Supervisors' first meeting since the legislative recess ended Monday had to be canceled after the meeting was improperly noticed.

"Due to a technical error, the Clerk of the Board did not publish the agenda,” said a notice posted a short while prior to when the meeting was supposed to start at 2 p.m. While the meeting was noticed online and on a board outside the clerk’s office failed to put a notice in the city’s official newspaper, as is legally required. For Tuesday’s meeting, the notice was supposed to be published in the Sunday newspaper edition.

The agenda included a vote on legislation that would impose an alcohol fee and a vote on an appeal of a mid-Market Street development.

The board met briefly to announce that all agenda items they were supposed to discuss have been moved to next Tuesday’s board meeting.

“We apologize to members of the public for this error and the resulting cancellation of today’s Board of Supervisors meeting,” Clerk of the Board Angela Calvillo said.
