Firefighter accused of taking drunken joyride 

A volunteer firefighter was charged with a DUI after allegedly running a sheriff’s deputy off the road in a Fire Department vehicle in Hamilton, Va. Sean Swanson, 27, and four other passengers in the pumper truck — all of them volunteers — were found to have been drinking and were forced to resign. Two other passengers who were volunteers with other departments have been suspended pending an investigation.
