Two firearms were reportedly recovered in the vehicle that contained the four young men who were shot and killed last week in Hayes Valley, said Police Chief Greg Suhr.

During a Police Commission meeting Wednesday night, Suhr confirmed that there were two firearms recovered in the vehicle and said the victims inside the car, which was reported stolen, “may have been about to do something, or not.” He then added, “However, that was interrupted by the other suspects,” who shot and killed the men.

The homicide suspects are still at large and police have no new leads.

The four victims were shot about 10 p.m. Jan. 9 inside the double-parked car on Page Street near Laguna Street.

The four men were identified this week as Manuel O'Neal, 22; Yalani Chinyamurindi, 19; Harith Atchan, 21; and David Saucier, 20. Three were from San Francisco and Saucier was from Antioch.

Several of the victims have been reported to have had criminal backgrounds, but at the commission meeting Suhr said at least one, Chinyamurindi, did not appear to have any history of crime or gang connections.

A vigil was held for the victims Monday night in the Fillmore.
