Film Commission mulls ousted director's severance

The City’s Film Commission plans a special meeting Feb. 9 to vote on whether to authorize a severance deal for its recently ousted executive director, Stefanie Coyote. Coyote may be entitled to a severance payment under The City’s Municipal Executives’ Association labor union contract. Mayor Gavin Newsom appointed her in 2004 to revive movie-making in The City, then apparently wanted her to resign. She reportedly gave in last month, and Newsom’s office said it is searching for another executive director.
