Fatal delay: Man waits for ambulance after crashing in hospital parking lot

WHAT: A man was unconscious after crashing his car in the parking lot of the Portland, Ore., Adventist Hospital. But rules wouldn’t let him be taken into the ER until an ambulance brought him.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT: Birgilio Marin-Fuentes, 61, died shortly afterwards from cardiac complications that may have caused him to crash.

WHY IT’S OUTRAGEOUS: Police had to do CPR and try to keep Marin-Fuentes alive until hospital paramedics and an ambulance came out to the parking lot.
