Family sues Muni for hitting, killing pedestrian

The family of a woman who was hit and killed by a Muni bus in April filed suit with The City, claiming that 49-year-old Xiao Feng Deng was crossing Leavenworth Street with the light on Ellis when the number 27 Bryant bus turned right and hit her.

Deng, who was killed on April 3, was the second pedestrian to be fatally hit by a San Francisco Municipal Railway vehicle this calendar year.

There have been three such collisions since, including two this month.
