False accusation: Police overreact to mean-spirited call from man’s neighbor

A CALL: Houston police responded quickly after a woman called authorities to accuse her neighbor of pistol-whipping and strangling his wife and dumping her into a car.

After police came to the man’s house and demanded that he stick up his hands, a police dog began gnawing on the man’s arm.

A MISTAKE: Only then did police realize that the accusation was false. The man has missed work and has hospital bills due to injuries. His accuser is now in jail.
