Fallen utility wires cause outages, Muni disruptions in San Francisco

More than 150 feet of power lines came down in the Sunset district near Duboce Triangle Saturday night, causing outages and disrupting service on Muni's N-Judah line for several hours, a Muni spokesman said.

About 150 to 200 feet of power lines came down near Judah Street and 22nd Avenue, and near Duboce Avenue and Fillmore Street, at about 5:55 p.m., Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

No injuries were reported, but the N-Judah line stopped service near the fallen lines and did start running again until about 10:10 p.m., Rose said.

Up to 5,000 PG&E customers in San Francisco lost power due to the downed lines, utility spokesman J.D. Guidi said.

Those customers had their power restored in the early morning hours, Guidi said.
