Ex Calif. teacher in drunk teen case pleads guilty

A former San Diego County middle school teacher has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a party at her house last summer where dozens of teenagers became drunk

U-T San Diego (http://bit.ly/yUjniz ) says Nancy Hildebrand pleaded guilty on Jan. 12 to violating the county social host ordinance and providing alcohol to a minor, both misdemeanors. Prosecutors say she was sentenced to three years' probation, fined $1,000 and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.

The 57-year-old Hildebrand resigned from her position at Valley Center Middle School two months after the June 12 party. Sheriff's deputies called to her home found many drunk teens, including two who were passed out in their own vomit.

Hildebrand faced up to a year in jail if she had been convicted of the charges.
