Eshoo's lead exposure bill passes House subcommittee 

A bill by U.S. Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Palo Alto, that would help eliminate the health threat and economic burden of lead exposure from household water sources was passed by the House Subcommittee on Energy and Environment. The legislation updates the national standard for lead content to nearly eradicate the material in faucets and fixtures, which contribute up to 20 percent of human lead exposure, the Environmental Protection Agency said.
