Engine LLC for Medjool

Each week, The Examiner showcases an advertising campaign by a local company.

Client: Medjool Inc.

Job: Introduce Medjool to business travelers and tourists on all domestic United Airlines flights.

Agency: Engine LLC, San Francisco

Principals: Robert Solis, Geoff Skigen

Other clients: Bank of Marin, Micro Focus, Apani Networks, Kimpton

Creative team: Robert Solis, creative director; Geoff Skigen, creative director

The plan: The campaign runs in Hemispheres, United Airlines’ magazine, through December.

The concept: The four-ad campaign capitalizes on a captive audience and draws parallels between air travel and Medjool’s Sky Terrace with headlines such as: "Enjoy 360º views of San Francisco without circling SFO" and "Come see views of San Francisco even pilots don’t enjoy."

What drove your development of the concept?: Most tourists in The City don’t venture beyond the expected destinations. Medjool offers a real adventure for foodies and is a true departure from the expected because it boasts the Sky Terrace, San Francisco’s only outdoor roof top bar/restaurant with 360-degree views of The City, as well as authentic tapas from 11 Mediterranean nations.

Working on next: Mixed-media campaign for Bank of Marin, integrated online effort for Micro Focus, continued alternative media for Apani Networks, restaurant refresh for Kimpton, show graphics for Bodog.
