Energy Commission boosted by federal stimulus funds 

The California Energy Commission received $314.5 million in federal stimulus money for energy efficiency and renewable energy programs, according to the state Energy Commission. That money will go toward conservation block grants, appliance rebate programs and energy-savings planning statewide. The Energy Commission is committed to stimulating the economy and creating jobs as well as meeting the state’s energy and environmental policy goals.
