Electric vehicle corridor in Bay Area takes another step forward

One point for environmentalists: ChargePoint Networked Charging Stations are now available for public installation in the nine designated metropolitan areas in the nation, including the San Francisco Bay Area.

Business leaders and climate change groups recently joined the Bay Area Council and the Business Council on Climate Change to talk about creating a viable electric vehicle corridor in the Bay Area.

Coulomb Technologies, the company sponsoring the program, has received stimulus funds to install 5,000 electric-vehicle-charging stations throughout the United States. As part of the program, ChargePoint plans to offer free, publicly accessible charging stations to interested Bay Area businesses, which will almost certainly bolster plans for an electric vehicle corridor for the Bay Area.
