Ed Lee dons a classic tuxedo for White House dinner

By now everyone has likely heard about the  Chinese delegation in Washington, D.C., and the Chinese-Americans from around the United States who are attending the festivities.

Other things that are not news: San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and Oakland Mayor Jean Quan were at the state dinner for China's President Hu Jintao along with a mix of Hollywood A-listers and big business types.

So what is the news?

How about what Lee wore to the White House dinner?

A photo from the event shows Lee, who is the first Chinese-American mayor of San Francisco, sporting a classic tuxedo with peaked lapels and a bow tie.

The dapper Lee is shown arriving with Quan, who wore a black, full-length dress with a modern take on the traditional Chinese jacket with a Mandarin collar.

Next up for Lee in Washington is meetings Thursday during the 79th winter meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and conducting meetings around the capital, according to the Mayor's Office.
