Dufty raises more than $100K for mayor’s race

District 8 Supervisor Bevan Dufty raised $101,678 in $100 contributions since he started his campaign for San Francisco’s next mayor on Sept. 24, 2009.

The amount raised was reported to the Ethics Commission Monday, the deadline to declare the amount of contributions received by a candidate for the period of January through December of 2009.

Dufty has an early start on the race. The election is Nov. 8, 2011. So far, no other serious contender has filed to run. But there’s been plenty of talk about potential candidates, including City Attorney Dennis Herrera, Assessor- Recorder Phil Ting and state senator Leland Yee, to name only a few.
