Drunken Muni brawl results in a fork in a nose

By Mike AldaxA San Francisco man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man in the nose with a fork and biting him during a brawl about the noise level on a Muni bus, police said.
Cops responded to the zany bus altercation at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Bay Street around 2:30 a.m.
Both men were drunk, police said. The victim, a 45-year-old man, told the suspect, 46, to be quiet after he started “screaming and yelling” on the bus, Officer Albie Esparza said.
The suspect didn’t like being silenced, and a fight ensued in which the suspect stuck the victim in the nose with a fork, Esparza said. While wrestling trying to disarm the suspect, the victim was bitten in the arm, the police spokesman said.
After the fight, both men got off the bus. Police arrived and took the suspect – identified as Dewayne Austin Shelton – into custody. He was booked into county jail on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, Esparza said.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for a puncture and bite wound, which were not life threatening.
