Drunken driver lodges car inside Muni tunnel

Not again!

A drunken driver attempted to drive “all the way through the [Muni] tunnel” at Duboce and Church streets Sunday, police said. Oddly, an incident like this is not unheard of in San Francisco.

The car got stuck on the Muni light-rail tracks around 1:25 a.m., police said.

“The car was stuck quite a distance inside,” cops said.

The driver told cops he was unfamiliar with the area. The officers could tell he’d been drinking “quite a lot,” police said. He failed the sobriety and Breathalyzer tests and was arrested, police said.

The car was removed from the tracks, which were inspected before trains were allowed to run again, police said.
