Driver knocks down 40 cyclists in Brazil group ride 

WHAT: A motorist sped his car through a pack of more than 100 bicycling activists in a southern Brazilian Critical Mass ride. At least 40 were injured, but fortunately nobody was killed.

HOW: Witnesses said the assailant drove behind the bicyclists for two blocks before flooring the gas,  sending bikes and screaming riders flying through the air and landing hard on the asphalt.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT: The bloody attack was recorded on amateur video and widely viewed online. The alleged driver was arrested after authorities found his abandoned car.
