Driver in Tracy Morgan accident lacked sleep

New Jersey police have released recordings from three 911 calls made after the weekend accident that injured Tracy Morgan and killed another comedian.

"It's a terrible accident," a woman tells the dispatcher in one call released Tuesday, according to The Associated Press. "The car flipped. It's on its side. It's two vehicles and a Wal-Mart truck."

The crash on Saturday killed 62-year-old James "Jimmy Mack" McNair and injured Morgan and three others. The driver of Morgan's limo and another passenger were unhurt.

Wal-Mart trucker Kevin Roper is expected to appear in court today on charges of death by auto and assault by auto. It was unclear if Roper, of Jonesboro, Ga., had retained an attorney. He remained free after posting $50,000 bond.

Authorities said Roper hadn't slept for more than 24 hours when he smashed into the back of Morgan's chauffeured limo bus.

Morgan suffered a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs. He and two other passengers are hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

FX Networks issued a statement Tuesday saying Morgan's new series is waiting for him when he is well, but that his recovery is of immediate concern.
