Don’t let school kids forget what they’ve learned this summer

To make sure students don’t lose the knowledge they learned during the school-year, The City is offering a resource fair Wednesday for programs that provide educational summertime activities for kids.

The All City Summer Professional Development and Resource Fair provides “a wealth of information, resources and workshops to help program providers prepare enriching summertime experiences for school-aged children,” the San Francisco Unified School District said.

“Over the summer students can lose up to two months of what they learned in school,” it said.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church, 1187 Franklin St.

Board of Education President Jane Kim, police Chief George Gascón and Recreation and Park Director Phil Ginsburg will lead an opening session, the district said.
