Director of new parking programs will speak this week

The director of the Municipal Transportation Agency’s new batch of parking programs will give an update this week on how the pilot projects are progressing

Called SFpark, the MTA’s innovative series of measures include plans for real-time updates on available parking spots, increased payment methods for meters, and extended visits in paid-parking spots on San Francisco’s streets.

Jay Primus, chief architect of the program, will speak in depth about the myriad of SFpark projects on Thursday at SPUR, a local think-tank.

The discussion will take place at 12:30 p.m. at SPUR’s headquarters on 654 Mission Street. The event is free to SPUR members and $5 for the public.
