Dim bulb: Vaccination fears feed measles outbreaks

DIM BULB: A trend for some parents to refuse to vaccinate their children out of fear it might cause autism has helped revive an older threat: measles.

There were 131 cases in the first seven months of this year, a rate not seen in more than a decade, and more than three times than that seen last year.

The disease is commonly brought into the United States from other countries, but can spread rapidly among unvaccinated children.
