Dim Bulb: Low SAT scores 

While it’s certainly not good news that SAT scores remain at their lowest level in nearly a decade, officials say the trend is caused in part by an increase in the number of students taking the test. The test now also includes a writing section, which data suggests is the best gauge of success in the first-year of college.
