Department of Public Works organizing cleanup effort in District 5

For the sixth time this year, the Department of Public Works is asking for local volunteers to step up and help out with cleaning efforts at a neighborhood community center.

This Saturday, DPW is assembling crews to work on landscaping and gardening projects, graffiti abatement, and weed removal at the African American Art and Culture Complex in the Western Addition neighborhood.

The cleanup efforts on Saturday will benefit District 5 residents, and follow similar programs organized by DPW earlier this year in other San Francisco neighborhoods.

Anyone interested in volunteering should show up 9 a.m. Saturday at the cultural center, which is located at 762 Fulton St.
