Democratic party leader, activist August Longo dies 

August J.P. Longo, the longtime activist for the disabled, elderly and LGBT communities and Democratic Party leader, died Tuesday after suffering a heart attack. Longo was a member of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, and was twice a delegate to the Democratic National Convention and a regional director for the state party. He was also a member of the Executive Board of the Alice B. Toklas LGBT Democratic Club.
