Delays due to Giants parade and BART, wet conditions Friday

Commuters into The City and around downtown are highly encouraged to take public transit Friday morning as Market Street between Steuart Street and Civic Center Plaza, Mission Street from The Embarcadero to Van Ness Avenue and multiple surrounding streets will be blocked due to the Giants World Series championship parade, which starts at noon.

The public should take extra caution traveling today due to overnight rain and more precipitation forecast throughout the day.

BART reported a major delay at the Daly City in the San Francisco International Airport, Millbrae and East Bay directions due to an equipment problem at 5:44 a.m. Friday. The system was recovering from a 10-minute delay at 7:36 a.m.

The Muni 14-Mission, 21-Hayes and 41-Union lines began rerouting at 7:52 a.m. due to the parade.

The Muni 5-Fulton, 9-San Bruno, 16X-Mission Express, 38L-Geary Limited, 44-O’Shaughnessy, 47-Mission/Van Ness, 48-Quintara/24th Street, 71-Haight/Noriega had longer than usual wait times as of 7:23 a.m.
