Defined benefits dying out (correction)

A friendly correspondent writes to say that the following sentence in my Sunday Examiner column is incorrect:

"For in his April 13 speech at George Washington University, the speech to which Standard & Poor's responded by reducing the government's credit rating to ‘negative,’ he seemed to think he could get all the money we need to balance the budget from higher taxes on the rich."

The writer argues that Obama also proposed getting money from spending cuts. I think he has a point: I probably should have written “he could get all the additional revenue we need to balance the budget,” etc.
