Folk Christmas: Blues-folk rocker Jolie Holland is playing a weeklong holiday residency. [8 p.m., Viracocha, 998 Valencia St., S.F.]

FILM

Christmas movies: Dash into Christmas week with a double feature of modern Christmas movies, including Bruce Willis battling baddies during the holidays in "Die Hard" (4:30, 9 p.m.) and Bill Murray as an updated Ebenezer in "Scrooged" (7 p.m.). [Castro Theatre, 429 Castro St., S.F.]
