Davis loses Ala. primary; N.M., Miss. elections turn out as expected 

Alabama’s Democratic gubernatorial primary has been called, and the winner is not Artur Davis but Ron Sparks.

That’s one surprise for tonight. Meanwhile, in New Mexico, Susana Martinez has won the GOP nod for governor and has good prospects for this fall. In Mississippi, state Sen. Alan Nunnelee, R, is on the cusp (or “the precipice,” as President Obama might say) of taking the nomination to face Rep. Travis Childers, D, this fall.
