David Brooks: I wouldn't want Newt Gingrich running a 7-Eleven let alone the country

In a recent interview with TIME, New York Times columnist David Brooks, weighed in on the GOP presidential hopefuls, ahead of the 2012 election.

Brooks however, did not have kind words for Newt Gingrich

"I'm not overwhelmed by its quality," said Brooks about the GOP's 2012 presidential field, "Some people are interesting personalities. . . Newt Gingrich is not going to be president I wouldn't let that guy run a 7-Eleven let alone the country. Really interesting guy, no management skills."

Brooks noted that Obama was "certainly beatable" noting that the President had problems in the mid-west where the Republicans have been making gains.
