Daly City Walgreens wants alcohol license

A Walgreens in Daly City is making another run at selling alcoholic beverages.

At Monday’s City Council meeting, the chain store — which has been making a national push to sell beer and wine — is on the agenda for its request to receive a license to sell alcohol.

Burlingame in April approved the sale of beer and wine at a Broadway location despite the city already being over its desired maximum of four establishments that sell liquor.

The Walgreens at 6100 Mission St. in Daly City is looking to be the next to sell spirits.

The City Council meets Monday at 7 p.m. at 333 90th St.
