Daly City man accused of threatening son, daughter injures himself in fall

A Daly City dad hopped off the balcony of his home Sunday after cops arrived on a report that he was trying to kill his adult son and daughter.

The unidentified father was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with a self-inflicted stab wound and a broken femur just after 9 a.m., according to the Daly City Police Department.

Cops were dispatched to the father’s home in 100 block of East Moltke Street after his kids called 911 saying their father was trying to butcher them.

“The two adult children barricaded themselves in the bedroom,” police said.

The son told cops his father had cut him in the forearm with a large kitchen knife, and that his dad was in the kitchen getting more knives, police said.

When cops arrived, the daughter dropped the house keys from the balcony. The father then jumped from the balcony, police said.

Cops later learned the dad was on probation for domestic violence. An emergency protective order was granted for his kids, police said.
