Daily Outrage: Subway seat dispute turns deadly 

WHO: Gerardo Sanchez

WHAT: Sanchez, a Bronx resident, allegedly stabbed to death a fellow subway passenger, identified as Dwight Johnson, 36, of Brooklyn in front of around 30 people in an argument over a seat.

WHY IT HAPPENED: The New York Times reports that Johnson may have refused to move his bag off a seat so that Sanchez could sit down.

WHY IT’S A BAD IDEA: Terrified passengers were reportedly trapped in the train with Sanchez and Johnson’s body until the train reached the next station. It’s not clear if anyone tried to intervene.
