Daily Outrage: Robber-killer tells victim’s family shooting was ‘accident’

WHO: Confessed killer Alan Chaparro

WHAT: Chaparro, 28, infuriated the family of victim Jessica Enger when he told them at his sentencing, “I’m doing a lot of years paying for this accident that happened.”

HOW IT HAPPENED: A ski-masked Chaparro planned to burglarize a pizzeria owner’s apartment. He mistakenly broke into the apartment where Enger, a 31-year-old mother, was visiting a female friend. He forced both women into the pizzeria owner’s apartment. The gun fired as he struggled with the man.

PLEA DEAL: Chaparro faced life behind bars for murder, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter for 25 years in prison.
