Daily Outrage: Liu who? China blocks Internet news of Nobel Peace winner

WHAT: All electronic media links to imprisoned Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo, this year’s Nobel Peace Prize laureate, are being blacked out by the nation’s irate authorities.

HOW: Typing “Liu Xiaobo” or even “Nobel Prize” on Chinese search engines, microblogging sites or Twitter just delivers an error message. International TV stories on Liu are blocked.

WHY: For ordinary Chinese, the only glimpse of the story came when a state TV anchor read a short announcement blasting the Norwegian Nobel Prize committee’s decision.
